The mission of the center is to provide affordable access to space, tools, and resources for creating independently published media and artwork, and to build community and identity through the creation of written and visual art. Since its inception in 1998 the IPRC has been dedicated to encouraging the growth of a visual and literary publishing community in Portland by offering space to gather and exchange information and ideas, as well as to produce work. The Studio Manager is responsible for overseeing studio operations, including those for letterpress, risograph, screen printing, bookbinding, and other publishing focus areas, on behalf of the center. The Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC) is currently seeking a Studio Manager, who works collaboratively with the rest of the small staff, including the Executive Director, Program Director (both FTE), and Membership & Community Projects Coordinator (part-time), as well as volunteers & interns.
